British Chiropractic Sports Council

Doctor of Chiropractic Doug Clark is the immediate past President of the BCSC (British Chiropractic Sports Council). Doug continues to develop the numerous very positive relationships set up between Chiropractors and sports teams in the UK.





With London 2012 fast approaching, one of the focuses of the BCSC will be to deliver an organised and united team of experienced sports Chiropractors to the London Games and then in turn to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

Chiropractic can work well within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and can
assist with:

Sporting Involvement

Over the past twelve years, our Chiropractors have been involved in a number of sporting arenas, clubs and institutions.

Sporting Chiropractic Lectures

Doctor of Chiropractic Doug Clark has also delivered a number of lectures on Sports Chiropractic at different forums, in particular at:

• UK Sports High Performance seminar at The Belfry in 2007
• The British Chiropractic Association National Conference in 2006

But whatever your level of sport we will apply the same level of expertise we use in elite sport to your individual needs and enthusiastically work to help you achieve your goals.

Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club

During the summer of 2007, The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club reviewed their medical care programme for the current season and Dynamic Chiropractic became a valued and integral part of the off-ice support team.

GM Andy Costigan commented, "I met with Doctor of Chiropractic Doug Clark in the summer and we discussed at great length the requirement of the club in respect of the players and what Dynamic could bring to our table. Doug was extremely thorough and totally professional, and his presentation gave us a whole new outlook in terms of not only post-injury care, but more importantly injury avoidance. In a contact sport such as ice hockey, injuries are part and parcel of the equation and the way we handle them when they occur is of paramount importance to us. The players themselves are our biggest assets and we need them as fit and healthy as possible at all times. Our players are very comfortable with their regular visits to Dynamic and fully appreciate and respect the personal attention each player receives from Doug. Involving Doug and Dynamic Chiropractic as part of our club was arguably one of our smartest signings last summer."

About the Manchester Phoenix IHC

Founded in 2003, The Manchester Phoenix are the North West's only full-tier ice hockey club.

There are teams ranging from the Junior Under 10 level right up to the fully professional English Premier League squad playing out of the 2,200 seater Altrincham Ice Dome. The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club is a true family orientated sport.

League home games are predominantly on Sunday evenings, commencing at 5.30pm and finishing before 8.00pm. With crowds averaging 1,500 and growing, the Phoenix is a sporting spectacle on the rise. A night at the Ice Hockey is an entertainment-packed affair with lots of interactive off-ice fun for all the family. Added to the speed, skills, thrills and spills of the fastest team sport in the world there is an atmosphere second to none.

Our club encompasses an approved Schools Roadshow that each and every week of the season takes Ice Hockey out into the community, encouraging participation in sport and a healthy living programme. Last season, the Phoenix Roadshow took the message into over 50 schools across Manchester and even further out.

With Britain's most celebrated Ice Hockey star - Tony Hand MBE, back for his sixth season as Head Coach, the 2011-12 season promises to continue thrilling Manchester's Ice Hockey Fans!
