Arthritis
Arthritis
Arthritis is the word used to describe pains in the joints. It literally means inflammation of a joint and there are a number of forms of Arthritis.
Osteo-Arthritis
Osteo-Arthritis is due to the ageing process. We are likely to experience some degree of 'wear and tear' when the cartilage covering the bones of a joint becomes eroded and rough.
Rheumatoid Arthritis & Ankylosing Spondylitis
Rheumatoid Arthritis & Ankylosing Spondylitis are less common forms of Arthritis. Both conditions can result in severe inflammation and eventually fusing of some of the joints of the spine. Chiropractic does not treat these conditions directly, but may be effective in relieving some of the symptoms.
Can Chiropractic Help?
Once a full medical history and examination have been completed, a Chiropractor will be able to make a diagnosis and suggest a treatment programme. Chiropractic is appropriate for treating the symptoms of some forms of Arthritis. The aim is to reduce pain and improve mobility leading to a better quality of life.
